Fire & Rescue NSW (FRNSW) firefighters are assisting the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) as flood waters rise across the state.Firefighters from Cooma worked with the SES and other emergency services on Tuesday and Wednesday to fill 1,700 sandbags to protect homes and businesses from the flood waters.Firefighters from Mulwalla Fire Station had a busy day today <Thursday 1 March> helping the SES, evacuating staff and children from the Country Buddies Kindy, assisting residents in the community and filling sandbags.In the Goulburn area, a Strike Team is on standby, made up of crews from Bowral, Yass, Crookwell, and Goulburn, while crews from the Blue Mountains will be deployed to the North Richmond Community Centre from 8am tomorrow to provide fire and emergency protection to residents who may be cut off by the rising Nepean River.FRNSW remains ready and able to assist the SES.Residents requiring assistance due to rising flood waters can contact the SES on 132 500.
