Automatic storage and retrieval systems (ASRS)
FRNSW does not support the storage of flammable goods (dangerous goods class 2, 3 and 4) within any top loading ASRS.
FRNSW recommend consideration be given to the provisions identified in FM Global Property Loss Prevention Data Sheet 8-34 Protection for Automatic Storage and Retrieval Systems when designing and assessing buildings that contain an ASRS.
FRNSW recommend consideration be given to Appendix C.3 “Automatic storage and retrieval systems” of AS 2419.1:2021 – Fire hydrant installations, Part 1: System design, installation and commissioning, when designing fire protection systems in buildings that contain an ASRS.
