Two people survive helicopter crash at aerodrome - Bankstown

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews are at the scene of a helicopter crash in Sydney's south-west.
Two people were aboard the single-engine aircraft when it plummeted to the ground at the Bankstown Aerodrome in Airport Avenue, near Marion Street, just before 2pm today.
The propeller and part of the fuselage sustained significant damage as the chopper came to rest on its side.
FRNSW deployed 10 firefighters and three fire trucks to the scene.
Both occupants, believed to be a pilot and an instructor, were not injured and managed to walk from the wreckage.
They were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
Fire crews, trained in hazardous materials response, cleared a minor fuel spill.
They also suppressed fibres from the wreckage, which posed a potential health risk.
NSW Police will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
