Perchloric acid incident - Darlinghurst

Fire and Rescue HAZMAT crews are attending an address on Victoria Street Darlinghurst after the discovery of a container of perchloric acid.
The acid is crystalised in form and has high explosive potential.
Surrounding roads have been closed for safety as the NSW Police bomb squad is in attendance and FRNSW perform atmospheric monitoring.
Roads are currently closed between Burton Victoria Street, while Liverpool to Burton Streets are closed to foot traffic.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the area.
