Fire and Rescue NSW crews responding to major grass fire in Sydney's south west - Horningsea Park

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is currently responding to a significant grass fire in Horningsea Park, in Sydney’s south west.

Shortly before 2pm, firefighters from FRNSW and the Rural Fire Service (RFS) were called to the blaze at the intersection of Camden Valley Way and Cowpasture Road.

More than 20 fire trucks and 80 firefighters are on scene or on route, including FRNSW Bushfire Tankers and a Mobile Command Centre.

Firefighters are working to contain the fire and prevent it spreading to nearby properties.

Residents are being urged to follow the advice of on scene emergency crews.

FRNSW recommends that people avoid the area, check the Hazards Near Me app and check the RFS website www.rfs.nsw.gov.au for the latest advice.
