New $1.5m Turntable Ladder fire appliance for Sydney's inner suburbs - VIDEO - Woollahra

Fire and Rescue NSW’s ability to respond to high-rise emergencies in Sydney’s east has been bolstered by a new $1.5 million turntable ladder truck for the Woollahra Fire Station.
The Rosenbauer-manufactured vehicle, built in Germany, replaces an earlier model, which has reached the end of its service life.
The new aerial appliance can extend its ladder 33-metres, up to 75-degrees, to deal with elevated emergencies and can hold a combined weight of 500-kilograms.
It features an integrated fire hose and can support a Stokes litter for patient transportation.
The turntable ladder truck is capable of issuing around 7,600 litres of water a minute up to a range of about 60-metres.
FRNSW Director of Fleet Management, Ian Peisley, says the new truck represents an upgrade over the previous model.
“It’s a more modern, more efficient vehicle and it’s faster to set-up at a fire scene,” Mr Peisley said, “It’s one of three such aerial appliances we’ve ordered.
“The remaining two turntable ladders are due in the next 12-to-18 months.
“The truck purchases are part of FRNSW’s $38 million aerial platform replacement program, that is seeing 15 appliances being replaced across Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and the Central Coast.
