PAW Patrol joins forces with Fire and Rescue NSW to celebrate Open Day - NSW

With winter fast approaching, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW), will join forces with Nickelodeon and Spin Master Entertainment’s hit animated preschool property PAW Patrol, at the Emergency Services Academy in Orchard Hills on Saturday, May 13 as part of this year’s annual FRNSW Open Day (10 am to 2 pm).
Two of PAW Patrol’s heroic rescue pups in training, Marshall and Chase, will be on a roll as they take centre stage with FRNSW Commissioner Paul Baxter on Saturday, as part of a state-wide Open Day for families to head down to their nearest Fire Station to meet their local firefighters and check out the facilities.
Out at the Emergency Services Academy, PAW Patrol’s Marshall and Chase costume characters will spend time with local families checking out Fire Trucks, watching firefighting demonstrations and learning more about important fire safety messages.
Nickelodeon and Spin Master Entertainment’s hit animated preschool franchise PAW Patrol, is a global phenomenon and celebrated as one of the most popular and top-rated kids brands in the world. Celebrating its 10-year anniversary milestone in 2023, PAW Patrol features a curriculum that focuses on citizenship, social skills and problem-solving.
The series, which follows the PAW-some pack of heroic rescue pups - Chase, Marshall, Rubble, Skye, Rocky, Zuma, Everest and Tracker led by a tech-savvy boy named Ryder, work together on action-packed rescue missions and adventures to protect their community, believing no job is too big, no pup is too small. PAW Patrol encourages kids to learn about themes of bravery and heroism, with positive storylines inspired by real life service careers.

FRNSW Commissioner Paul Baxter said Open Day was an opportunity to show people that firefighters do so much more than fight fires.
“Open Day is really about inviting the community to come along to their local fire station to meet with firefighters and find out more about the job they do.
"Our crews don’t just put out fires. They attend road crashes, deal with hazardous materials, save animals and are prepared for anything and ready to help at anytime,” Commissioner Baxter said.
“Open Day helps to showcase these attributes to the community and educate them about key home safety messages.
"This year we are focussing on the importance of ‘Sounding the Alarm’ and making sure that we all check the smoke alarm inside our own home and make sure that it is working.
“Each year, approximately 20 people die in NSW from fires that could have been prevented.
“Open Day allows you to speak to local firefighters about what safety measures to take leading into winter and also give you the opportunity to book in a free home safety visit from your local station.”
