Major Fire and Rescue NSW operation continues after chemical spill - VIDEO - Revesby

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews are working to clear a spill of a highly dangerous chemical at Revesby, in Sydney's south-west.
Firefighters were called to a transport business on Canterbury Road, near Mavis Street, around 10:30am, after a forklift pierced a steel drum containing 200 litres of Toluene Diisocyanate (TDI).
Approximately 100 litres of the liquid had spilled onto the roadway.
TDI is a chemical widely used in the manufacture of foam and rubber, and is extremely hazardous to people when not properly controlled.
A major FRNSW-led operation involving scientific experts, HAZMAT specialists and more than 20 firefighters is continuing this afternoon.
The teams have been wearing the highest level of chemical protection as they work to contain and recover the spill, and decontaminate the area.
The clean-up is now in its final stages.
There are no reports of illness or injury at this stage.
