School Fire - Coffs Harbour

At 11:45am this morning, Fire and Rescue NSW were alerted to reports of a fire in a school at Hogbin Dr, Coffs Harbour.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire in a hopper carrying sawdust from a machine in the industrial arts workshop.
Crews worked to gain access to the hopper and were quickly able to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the building, however, the machine involved in the blaze received considerable damage.
Approximately 1000 students and 100 staff members evacuated the school site.
NSW Police and NSW Ambulance were in attendance. No injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.
