House Fire - Schofields

Just after 8am, Fire and Rescue NSW received numerous calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a house fire on the corner of Boundary and St Albans Roads, Schofields.

Multiple fire stations from the Western Suburbs responded to the incident and found a gas main had caught fire and was threatening a nearby home.

Crews and NSW Police evacuated residents and creating an exclusion zone, while gas and electricity was isolated to the area.

Firefighters managed to quickly extinguish the blaze and stop it from spreading to nearby homes. Crews are working with the utilities companies to render the area safe and allow residents back into their houses.

One person was injured with burns to face and hands and was transported to hospital by NSW Ambulance for further treatment.
