Garbage truck fire - Granville

Just after 11:30am today Fire and Rescue NSW responded to reports of a garbage truck alight on Clyde St, Granville.

Firefighters from Lidcombe Fire Station arrived on scene a short time later to find large plumes of smoke issuing from the storage area of the truck.

Crews were able to quickly contain the fire and unloaded the waste from the vehicle to ensure the blaze was fully extinguished.

The driver of the truck managed to safely evacuate and was uninjured. Clyde St was closed while firefighting operations were ongoing however it has since reopened.
