Restaurant Fire - Jamisontown

Just before 4pm Sunday, 20 September, a number of Fire and Rescue NSW crews responded to an automatic fire alarm at a restaurant on Batt Street, Jamisontown.

Upon arrival crews immediately upgraded the incident after witnessing large amounts of thick black smoke coming from the roof of the building.

More than 40 firefighters from across western Sydney battled the blaze which is believed to have started in a confined space in the roof of the restaurant.

The fire was extinguished just before 5pm however there was significant damage to the building.

NSW Police and NSW Ambulance were also in attendance, however no injuries were reported. Investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing.
