Flooding - Sydney

At 9:20am this morning, Fire and Rescue NSW received a Triple Zero (000) call following an Automatic Fire Alarm in a commercial building on York St, Sydney CBD.

Upon arrival crews from City of Sydney and Darlinghurst Fire Station's found a sprinkler system had incorrectly activated following a fire alarm resulting in a large amount of water flooding into several levels of the building.

Crews were able to shut off the sprinkler system and clear water from the building using specialist vacuums.

York St, was closed as firefighters worked to salvage stock from the building and render the area safe. No one was injured as as a result of the incident.
