Aircraft Crash - Bankstown

Just before 7pm this evening Fire and Rescue NSW was called to an aircraft emergency at Bankstown Airport.

Seven crews from Sydneys west attended the scene where a light plane which overshot the runway and crashed with two people on board the aircraft. One person was still in aircraft and the pilot had managed to escape the aircraft with no injuries.

Firefighters investigated the area for any fuel spills and stabilised the plane then assisted emergency management authority to tow the plane back to a safe area.

One passenger was treated by NSW Ambulance for minor injuries.
