Car Fire - Merrylands

At approximately 3pm this afternoon Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Guildford and Parramatta Fire Stations responded to reports of a car fire in a shopping centre car park on Mcfarlane St, Merrylands.

Crews from Guildford were first on the scene and found smoke issuing from the car park. After making further investigations, firefighters located one car alight and worked to contain the blaze.

The fire has now been extinguished and clean up is underway.

As a result of the fire approximately 200 people were evacuated from the shopping centre.

NSW Police are also in attendance, no injuries have been reported.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
