Kitchen Fire - Ashfield

Shortly before 10am this morning, Fire and Rescue NSW crews responded to a Triple Zero (000) call with reports of smoke coming from a ground floor unit.

Leichhardt Fire and Rescue station were first on the scene to witness smoke issuing from the 1st level of a 3 story unit block and immediately got to work to determine the cause.

After making entry to the apartment, the crew established food had caught alight on the stove top and extinguished the flames quickly to prevent any damage.
