MVA - Persons Trapped - Crescent Head

Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Kempsey and Port Macquarie are on the scene of a head on collision by a van into a tree.

Initial reports suggest that smoke was billowing from the vehicle.

Firefighters arrived at the incident just before 3pm and worked to free a male patient who was trapped in the vehicle.

He was extracted from the van in a multi-service operation with FRNSW and NSW SES.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter responded from Tamworth to transfer the patient to hospital.
