Power pole alight - North Lambton

Just after 9pm last night Fire and Rescue NSW crews from North Lamton were called to reports of a power pole alight on Werona St, North Lambton.

Upon arrival firefighters noticed the pole was well alight and at risk of falling and impacting nearby properties.

More than ten residents from three homes nearby were evacuated as a precaution. However Crews from Lambton and Newcastle Fire Stations were able to bring the fire under control quickly and render the area safe.
