Kangaroo rescue - Lithgow

Published: 27 Jul 2020 12:07pm

Just after midday Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Lithgow fire station were called to assist with a kangaroo rescue, after it was reported that a female kangaroo had been swept away in flood waters and was stuck in a storm drain.

After liaising with WIRES, the FRNSW crew made their way down into the drain to assess the kangaroo's condition and plan her rescue.

The juvenile Eastern Grey kangaroo was found uninjured and was safely removed from the drain.

The rescue was successful and she is now in the care of WIRES.
