Rat Bait Contamination - Matcham (Central Coast)

Fire and Rescue NSW Hazardous Materials experts have worked to remove Phosphine tablets which were placed around a shed in Matcham.

Firefighters were called when the tablet’s odour was noticeable from some distance. An exclusion zone of up to 50 meters was established.

Crews entered the contaminated area using fully encapsulated suits and placed the hazardous materials in purpose built bins.

The danger is now neutralised and the area has been made safe.
