Published: 04 Nov 2022 12:09pm

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) specialists have used hydraulic rescue tools to free a driver from the wreckage of a two vehicle crash today at Abbotsbury, in Sydney's South West.

Two trucks collided on The Horsley Drive just before 10am.

NSW Police closed all southbound lanes to allow firefighters to work on ladders to free the driver of a Pantech truck.

The driver was safely extricated within 45 mins and treated by NSW Ambulance at the scene.

FRNSW crews remain at the incident to prevent further hazards to other motorists while the roads are cleared and re-opened.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
