FRNSW carries out rapid damage assessments in flood zones - VIDEO - Cootamundra / Forbes

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) has flown three disaster response teams into the flood-impacted South West Slopes, carrying out nearly 100 rapid damage assessments (RDAs) over three hours.
Supporting the NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) led operation, FRNSW conducted 83 RDAs in Cootamundra, with 37 properties confirmed as damaged.
A childcare centre was deemed the most severely damaged. A retirement village and a care facility for people living with disabilities were also assessed for slight to moderate damage.
The data collected by the FRNSW teams has been fed into a central NSW Government database. This will enable key agencies to support residents with clean-outs, hazards removal, insurance access, and other recovery support.
In Forbes, there are forecasts of major flooding in coming days, as spills from Wyangala Dam combine with downstream flows.
FRNSW crews are continuing to share information, help locals fill and position sandbags, and put in place other measures to protect homes and businesses.
