FRNSW extends its helping hand in the flood zones - VIDEO - Across NSW

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews in the state's north are using a break in the wet weather to help transport vital supplies to isolated farming families and assist local residents with the flood clean-up.
FRNSW Strike Teams, attached to the State Emergency Service-led flood response, have been going door-to-door in impacted communities, assessing their needs, connecting them with support services, helping the clean-up and delivering safety messaging.
At Walgett, FRNSW In-water rescue Strike Team 'Juliet' has used its raft to ferry food, water and farming supplies, dropped in by helicopter, through floodwaters to cut-off homesteads.
Strike Team 'Kilo', featuring members of the FRNSW Community Engagement Unit and a fire crew from Charlestown in Newcastle, have been aiding residents of Carroll, 20-kilometres outside Gunnedah, to move flood-ruined furniture and belongings out of their homes, check smoke alarms installed in temporary housing and provide crucial advice.
Firefighters in Moama, on the NSW-Victoria border, have been using their rescue raft to deliver and position sandbags around homes at risk of inundation. They've also evacuated a vulnerable resident who has been cut-off by floodwaters for several days.
FRNSW's 'Hytrans' high-volume pump is in Barham, in the western Riverina, ready to remove floodwater out of residential areas and back into the river as levels drop.
