FRNSW Commissioner visits flood zones as support ramps up - VIDEO - Across NSW

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) Commissioner Paul Baxter has begun a tour of flood-impacted communities, to hear first-hand from those affected and offer additional support.
Commissioner Baxter arrived in Moama, in the state's Riverina, this afternoon, to meet with locals, FRNSW personnel and others on the frontline to discuss the current situation and forecasts.
The township is still waiting for the Murray River to reach its peak.
Six FRNSW strike teams and station crews remain active in Moama, Barham and Deniliquin in the state's south.
The Riverina crews have carried out a range of missions during the SES-led flood response including aerial assessments of the area's vital irrigation channels, water-level assessments for a local indigenous community and numerous rescues of stranded farming families.
Additional teams are working in the state's Northern Rivers district and North West, including in and around the townships of Gunnedah and Moree, where firefighters have been carrying out rapid damage assessments.
