Convoy of Fire and Rescue NSW logistics trucks heads to northern flood-zones - VIDEO - Orchard Hills

A convoy of Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) supply trucks has left Sydney to establish an emergency services 'base of operations' in flood-zones in the state's north.
The base, a joint initiative between FRNSW and the Rural Fire Service, will be established on Broughton Oval in Moree, dependent on road access, and will support up to 150 emergency personnel.
Semi-trailers were packed with tents, stretchers and other supplies this afternoon at FRNSW's Emergency Services Academy at Orchard Hills and dispatched north.
FRNSW has deployed nine 'In-water' and 'storm' Strike Teams to assist the SES-led flood response in Deniliquin, Moama, Barham, Moree, Ballina, Grafton, Dubbo (working in Gunnedah at present) and Walgett.
Local FRNSW crews are also assisting their townships with evacuation advice, stranded vehicle rescues, sandbagging and aerial flood assessments, using FRNSW Remotely-Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) or drones.
