Truck crash - South Strathfield

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) cleaned up a diesel spill following a truck crash in South Strathfield earlier this morning.
Three crews attended the scene on Cosgrove Road just after 6.00 am.
A light pantech truck was traveling north when it clipped a parked truck, rolled on its side and skidded for several metres before coming to stop.
Firefighters specialising in hazardous materials contained a large quantity of diesel that had escaped from the overturned truck before it entered the drain and waterways.
The driver suffered only minor injuries and was not transported to hospital.
Cosgrove Road was blocked in both directions for approximately two hours.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
