Hazardous materials operation - Glendenning

Published: 19 Aug 2022 11:38am

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews are at the scene of a complex hazardous materials operation at Glendenning in Sydney's west.

Around 9am, a liquid waste container being transported by a prime mover along Owen Street threatened to topple over.

FRNSW crews from the Schofields and Blacktown Fire Stations are assisting other emergency services at the scene.

Firefighters have used wooden blocks to secure the trailer tanker, carrying waste chemicals, to allow the uncoupling of the prime mover.

There are no signs of any leaking fluid although the street has been closed to traffic as a precaution.

Authorities are planning to safely remove the chemical waste and right the leaning container.
