Media Advisory - Appeal to stop winter fire deaths - Lakemba

The Minister for Emergency Services and Resilience and the Minister for Flood Recovery Steph Cooke will join Fire and Rescue NSW Commissioner Paul Baxter and a house fire survivor this morning as they address the media about the high number of winter fire deaths in NSW.
The death of a 62-year-old man at Bankstown at the weekend took the winter fire toll to 10, six more than the seasonal total last year.
Commissioner Baxter and Minister Cooke will be joined by Francesca Melfi, who, along with her husband, Angelo, escaped a house fire at Lakemba on Saturday.
