Firefighters battle house fire - Berkeley

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have entered a burning house to search for occupants at Berkeley in the state's Illawarra.

The blaze broke out in the single-level, fibro home in Leicester Street, just before 1.45pm today.

Firefighters from 10 FRNSW trucks are at the scene of the second alarm blaze.

Flames have spread to the roof of the house, part of which has collapsed.

Police are diverting traffic from the area as firefighters conduct a secondary search of the dwelling.
