Shop fire in Vaucluse - Vaucluse

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) has contained a fire in a food business in Vaucluse.
More than 50 firefighters are currently on scene at the two-level property on Old South Head Road.
Crews have contained much of the fire, which broke out at 10.30 am, and are removing tiles and extinguishing hot spots in the roof space.
There is damage to both the shop and premises above.
The energy company isolated the power outside the building to enable safe firefighting operations.
Approximately 20 people self-evacuated from a number of businesses and there are no reported injuries.
Old South Head Road is closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
FRNSW assisted in the retrieval of vital equipment and medications from adjoining businesses.
Investigations into the cause and origin of the fire are ongoing.
NSW Police and NSW Ambulance are also in attendance.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.
