Child's face pierced by wire - Lidcombe

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have tended to a young child, whose face has been pierced by wire, at Lidcombe in Sydney.

The boy, aged six, reportedly fell face first onto a 60cm length of wire in Carter Street today, causing serious bleeding.

Fire crews from Burwood and Silverwater attended the address about 5pm.

A firefighter has travelled in an ambulance to help stabilise the child, assisting paramedics as they transported the patient to the Children's Hospital at Westmead for further treatment.
