Bunny rescue - Belmore - Belmore

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have pulled off an Easter rescue this morning, saving a bunny from a unit fire at Belmore in Sydney.
The blaze broke out in a two-level apartment block in Tudor Street, just before 9am.
Crews from seven fire trucks attended the scene and established a defensive perimeter.
Earlier, a man, aged about 50, escaped the blaze with a rabbit, belonging to his children.
He attempted to go back into the unit to rescue a second bunny when he was overcome by smoke and was forced to retreat.
The resident was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, then entered the second-storey apartment and located the second bunny.
They carried the rabbit to safety, handing it back to the grateful owner.
The cause of the fire is being determined.
