FRNSW help medically evacuate two-year-old boy in Northern Rivers - Congarinni North

A Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) in-water rescue team has helped medically evacuate a two-year-old boy with breathing difficulties in the Northern Rivers last night.
The crew from Bowraville Fire Station, a Community First Responder station, responded to a medical emergency call to a home in Congarinni North around 5.30pm.
After assessing the child and realising he required medical attention, the crew drove the boy and his mother down Wilsons Road before coming across floodwaters.
Unable to go any further, firefighters then called upon the in-water rescue team to assist.
Working with NSW State Emergency Service (SES) and its on-water teams, the FRNSW strike team travelled approximately two kilometres north west along the river in Macksville to medically evacuate the child and his mother.
Upon arrival, the pair was transferred to a waiting NSW Ambulance in Macksville.
The young boy was in a stable condition when handed over into the care of paramedics.
