Helicopter Crash - Kosciuszko National Park

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have located a helicopter, forced to make an emergency heavy landing in the Snowy Mountains.
Firefighters are using winches to perform a vertical rescue as there are five passengers with reported injuries after the helicopter landed near Guthega Dam in the Kosciuszko National Park just before midday.
FRNSW crews have also deployed booms to prevent 150-litres of fuel from entering a nearby waterway.
NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, Rural Fire Service (RFS) and State Emergency Service (SES) crews are also in attendance.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
