As a result of floodwaters entering homes and businesses it is possible that household chemicals, bulk chemicals, and dangerous goods may have travelled large distances from their location.
If you locate a secure container, cylinder or vessel which poses no threat, you should report the item to the EPA enviro line on 131555 so it can be collected and disposed of appropriately.
However, if these items have been damaged and their contents spilt or released, people and the environment may be at risk of harm.
If you become aware of an imminent threat of harm to people or the environment from a release or spill of these items you should contact Triple Zero (000) to report the emergency and provide as much detail as possible.
