Supplies bound for flood zones - VIDEO - Northern Rivers

Published: 08 Mar 2022 04:42pm

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) and the Rural Fire Service (RFS) are teaming up to provide much-needed supplies to remote communities in the flood zones of NSW.

FRNSW and the RFS are jointly running daily shuttles of trucks, carrying vital supplies, to and from the Northern Rivers district to assist the State Emergency Service-led flood response.

Food, water, sanitiser, storage bins, insect repellent and many other items are being delivered to the flood zone, assisting communities hit hard by the disaster.

FRNSW is also assisting NSW Police and Resilience NSW to provide portable toilets and showers to a remote Aboriginal community, devastated by the floods.

Additional supplies are being sent to the SES Base of Operations at Wollongbar, which is housing hundreds of emergency service workers, being deployed into the flood zone.
