Windsor house fire - South Windsor

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have battled a fire that has destroyed a house overnight at Windsor, in Sydney's north-west.
FRNSW responded to a call Triple Zero (000) just before midnight, alerting them to the blaze in Cox Street, South Windsor.
Firefighters were confronted by a fibro house well alight, with flames taking hold in the roof.
They quickly went to work, attacking the seat of the fire.
Another team of firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, searched the home and confirmed no-one was home.
The crews extinguished the fire, conducted ventilation and secured the scene.
Despite their best efforts, the flames had engulfed the home and it was unable to be saved.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
