Garage Fire - Muswellbrook

Published: 16 Feb 2022 02:15am

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have extinguished a fire that engulfed a suburban garage overnight at Muswellbrook, in the Hunter Valley.

Two local crews arrived at the Aberdeen Street address around 2.15 this morning and found the 6x6m garage fully involved in fire.

Firefighters attacked the blaze as it threatened to spread to a neighbouring home and doused the flames 90 minutes later.

Vehicles inside the double garage were destroyed.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
