Truck Fire - Berowra

Published: 08 Feb 2022 06:29am

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) has battled a B-double blaze on the M1 Pacific Motorway, Berowra in Northern Sydney during peak hour today.

The alight truck was blocking 3 southbound lanes when crews arrived to tackle the fire just before 6:30 am this morning.

FRNSW Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and quickly worked to extinguish the truck fire with the assistance of NSW RFS.

Thanks to the quick actions of FRNSW crews, NSW Police were able to open two southbound lanes in just under one hour.

Superintendent Scott Dodson from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire, or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
