Person freed from car crash - GLEDSWOOD HILLS

Published: 07 Feb 2022 03:48pm

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have freed a person trapped in the wreckage of a two vehicle crash at Gledswood Hills in Sydney's south-west.

Fire trucks from Narellan and St Andrews Fire Stations were called to the crash scene on Raby Road at 3.48 this afternoon.

The crews worked to free the female occupant who was transported to hospital for further treatment.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said a large amount of electrical energy is discharged when lightning strikes a house, tree or car.

Community members are urged to keep up to date with local weather events that may impact their area.

"During a storm, stay indoors where possible to protect yourself, your loved ones and your pets. However, in the event of a fire, get out, stay out and call Triple Zero (000).”
