House destroyed by fire - Nowra

Published: 03 Feb 2022 06:32am

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) has battled a single-level house fire at Nowra on the South Coast this morning.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus searched the alight property for occupants before getting into an offensive position to battle the blaze.

Two crews from the Nowra fire station worked for several hours to extinguish the fire which had enveloped the house on Mandalay Avenue just after 6:30 am.

The house was totally destroyed, but thankfully there were no occupants inside at the time of the fire.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
