Driver rescued from three-truck crash - Nabiac

A truck driver has been rescued after three trucks collided in Nambiac, thirty kilometres south of Taree overnight.
A contingent of Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW), NSW RFS, NSW Police, and NSW Ambulance worked to free the driver who was trapped for over three hours in a crash involving three semi-trailers on The Pacific Highway.
FRNSW HAZMAT crews contained the large spill and inspected all three truck's loads which were not deemed to be dangerous.
One driver was transported to hospital whilst the drivers of the two other trucks escaped serious injury.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) when you are involved in or see a crash can be the difference between life and death.
The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said a large amount of electrical energy is discharged when lightning strikes a house, tree or car.
Community members are urged to keep up to date with local weather events that may impact their area.
"During a storm, stay indoors where possible to protect yourself, your loved ones and your pets. However, in the event of a fire, get out, stay out and call Triple Zero (000).”
