Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have battled dangerous conditions to extinguish a two-storey townhouse fire in West Gosford on the Central Coast earlier this morning.

Two brave firefighters sustained injuries whilst protecting adjoining homes from the blaze, and are currently being treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

With flames inside the roof, firefighters had to act fast in breathing apparatus to protect neighbour's properties and control the fire on Donnison Street when crews arrived just after 7:00 AM.

All residents were safely evacuated and the injured firefighters were treated on scene by NSW Ambulance.

NSW Police were also in attendance.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
