Neighbouring homes saved from Shop blaze - Northmead

The quick actions of 40 firefighters have saved neighbouring homes from a Barbershop fire at Northmead in Parramatta overnight.
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) firefighters quickly got to work evacuating residents from above and beside the shop fire when crews arrived on Sherwood Street around 12:30 pm last night.
The quick-thinking from firefighters saw the blaze contained and extinguished with no fire damage to nearby properties and no reported injuries.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
