Sailing Club alight - Narrabeen

Published: 27 Nov 2021 05:30pm

At 5.30pm on Saturday night (27 November) Fire and Rescue (FRNSW) had multiple calls to a structure fire in Narrabeen Sailing Club in Jamieson Park, Narrabeen.

With 30 Firefighters on the ground crews quickly got to work to contain the blaze. With no access to water crews drafted water from Narrabeen Lake and then transferred the water through multiple trucks to reach the fire (See photo). The fire was so extensive it caused part of the structure to collapse.

With some fuel leaking our specially HAZMAT trained firefighters used specific equipment to stop any contaminants leaking into the lake.

NSW Police and Ambulance were also in attendance.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
