Historic Building Fire - Goulburn

Approximately 40 Firefighters from Fire and Rescue (FRNSW) and NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) worked for several hours to extinguish a blaze at a vacant building in Goulburn in the Southern Tablelands over the weekend.
Two unused buildings were fully engulfed with flames issuing through the rooftops when firefighters arrived at the former psychiatric hospital on Wollondilly Avenue about 4:30 PM Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters contained the fire to the buildings which are no longer in use and no injuries were reported.
NSW Ambulance was also in attendance and NSW Police investigations are ongoing.
Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
