Cold Storage Facility Fire - Pendle Hill

Published: 02 Oct 2021 06:40am

More than 100 Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) firefighters have worked to control a large fire at a cold storage facility in western Sydney today.

Crews responded to the fire on Nirvana Street in Pendle Hill after being notified by an automatic fire alarm at 6:40 am.

The first arriving crews identified the building was constructed using insulated sandwich panels which can make the fire difficult to access and dangerous for crews working inside

Due to the nature of the fire, FRNSW deployed a significant response including more than 100 firefighters, a high volume water pump, a Mobile Command Centre and two aerial appliances to direct water onto the roof of the building.

All occupants of the building are accounted for and no injuries have been reported. FRNSW operations are ongoing and will continue into the evening.
