Granny Flat Fire - Umina Beach

Earlier today, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) extinguished a house fire on Neptune Street, Umina Beach.

On arrival, FRNSW crews found a granny flat fully alight with reports of trapped people inside.

Firefighters performed a search of the building and fortunately, no one was inside.

FRNSW Fire investigators, including Xenos (Ignitable Liquid Detection Canine), are working with NSW Police to ascertain the cause and origin of the fire.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for an emergency can be the difference between life and death.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you. It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
