House Fire - Booragul

Published: 27 Jul 2021 11:02am

More than 30 firefighters battled for two hours to contain a blaze that severely damaged a home on Merriwa St, Booragul today.

While en route, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews observed large amounts of black smoke in the vicinity. Firefighters arrived on scene to find flames issuing through the roof of a single level house.

Efforts to contain the blaze were hampered due to the roof collapsing, however FRNSW was able to protect neighbouring properties from the intense fire by preventing spread.

One person was treated by NSW Ambulance crews for smoke inhalation.

NSW Police were also in attendance.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
