Gas Leak - Cootamundra

Just after 1.00pm, Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) responded to reports of a gas leak on Hovell St, Cootamundra.

FRNSW arrived to find a 300kg gas cylinder leaking through a crack in the top valve. Firefighters and gas company employees dispersed the gas in a controlled release.

Firefighters also undertook gas detection and have since given it the all clear.

Hovell St and the train line through Cootamundra remain closed at this time.

NSW Police, NSW Ambulance and NSW Rural Fire Service are also in attendance.
